AI advisory · European Parliament

AI in the MEP office. Clearly explained. Tailor-made.

Exclusively for Members of the European Parliament and their teams: in person, on site, tailored to the way you work and in line with the legal requirements.

The situation

Your office already uses AI. The only question is how.

Using AI properly is still not the norm. The workload is too high, and in the absence of rules, people work with all sorts of tools. It becomes risky whenever AI is used without structure or documentation. The political responsibility always lies with the MEP. For the efficiency and impact of your work, though, it matters even more to learn how to use AI properly and purposefully.

The six typical pitfalls

Learning path

Four steps. At your pace.

No standard course, no off-the-shelf slide deck. I come to your office, look at how you work, and we focus on what your team actually needs.

    • AI basics explained clearly, without jargon
    • Which tools suit which task, and which don't
    • EU AI Act: what it means for your daily work
    • For Members, assistants and communications staff
    Book a meeting
    • Classify information by sensitivity, from public to highly sensitive
    • Decide which data may go into which tool
    • Document everything so you can answer any query before it is asked
    See the pitfalls
    • The right tool for every task: research, drafting, translation, transcription
    • Get on top of dossiers: analyse Commission proposals, draft reports and amendments
    • Output you can use straight away: notes, briefings, speeches, questions
    • Workspaces per dossier, templates and chats that build on each other
    • All of your political work, not just constituent mail
    • Hands-on, on site: I enable your team to do the work themselves
    Using AI well
    • A point of contact when things get stuck
    • Short guides for the whole team
    • Assess new tools before they are rolled out

Services

Three modules. Separately or combined.

Each module stands on its own and can be combined with the others. I adapt flexibly to your needs. Whatever else your office needs, we add.

Module 1

Understand

Your team knows what AI can do, where its limits are and what the EU AI Act means for your work.

  • On-site workshop for Members, assistants and communications staff
  • Tools compared: which one is good for what
  • EU AI Act and data protection in daily office work

OutcomeA shared understanding across the whole team.

See the pitfalls
Module 3

Apply

Your team works faster and better with AI, across all of its political work.

  • The right AI for every task
  • Workspaces, templates and workflows per dossier
  • Working on your real tasks together, not on examples

OutcomeMore time for political work.

Using AI well

Process

How we start.

  1. Step 1

    Get to know each other

30 minutes in your office, free of charge and without obligation. You tell me where things get stuck. I show you what is possible.

  2. Step 2

    Go deeper

If it's a fit, we tackle the topics you really need with your team. One at a time.

  3. Step 3

    Do it yourself

I guide, your team does the work. In the end, your team can do it without me.

About me

Sebastian Gras

I know the Commission, the Council and the Parliament, and how the three interact. For twenty years I worked in the senior German federal civil service and at the European Commission, focusing on energy and regulation.

I have written hundreds of briefing notes, commissioned expert studies, drafted political statements and worked on Commission legislative proposals. During the German Council Presidency in 2020, I negotiated in the Council and worked closely with the Parliament and the Commission.

I know how political offices work under time pressure. A new tool only helps if it fits seamlessly into daily work and complies with the institution's rules. I am independent and not tied to any provider. I recommend what suits your office.

AI does not replace political judgement. It gives you time for it.

How I work · three principles

In person

I come to your office, not by video and not as mass training. That is the only way to understand how you actually work.

Tailored

Every office works differently. What we tackle depends on your tasks, your team and your priorities, not on a syllabus.

Compliant with EP rules

Which data may go into which tool is settled in advance. Information is classified by sensitivity, and highly sensitive data never leaves the building.
